Stewart Room is a dual qualified Barrister and Solicitor, with over thirty years' experience.  Recognised as one of the country’s leading cybersecurity and data protection lawyers, he specialises in incident response; regulatory investigations and litigation concerning breaches; and cybersecurity and data protection advisory, risk management and compliance work. The legal directories say he "is considered one of the industry leaders in the area of data protection, privacy and cybersecurity" and that he is "pre-eminent in the field".

He has led three legal practices to being rated as market leaders by the legal directories and has been personally rated as a leading solicitor in data protection and cybersecurity since 2010. Formerly the global leader of cybersecurity and data protection legal services at a Big Four firm, he currently holds the same position at DWF.  

He is the President of The National Association of Data Protection Officers; a co-founder of The Cyber Security Challenge UK; a member of the European Data Protection Board’s expert support pool; a Forbes contributor on cybersecurity and data protection; a published author; and a past winner of The Financial Times Legal Innovator of The Year award. 

He has a Masters' degree in Computer and Communications law and is currently reading for his MSc in cybersecurity.
